Travel Tips: How to apply for a 2nd passport book
Want to find out if you’re eligible for a second passport book?
A U.S. passport holder who meets several additional requirements may be eligible to apply for a second U.S. passport book. A limited-validity, second passport book will be issued to you in limited circumstances, which will be valid for up to four years.
Here are examples of when you might qualify for a second passport book:
If your passport has stamps showing that you have traveled to specific countries, a foreign country may deny you a visa or entry. An Israeli entry or exit stamp in some Middle Eastern countries is an example.
Multiple visas are required for your frequent international travel. A multinational company or an international airline are two examples.
An urgent international trip requires a passport to the United States, but you are unable to obtain a foreign visa in time.
When a special validation is required to enter a restricted country or area.
If you feel that you meet the aforementioned requirements, here are the official application steps:
1. Fill out your form here
(for those renewing an application, follow here)
2. Submit a new Passport Photo
3. Use the (fee calculator) to Calculate and Submit Fees
