Provincial Leisure Magazine Contributor Program
Provincial Leisure Magazine publishes original, practical, and personal stories about travel, leisure, wellbeing, and local experiences. This page explains how our contributor program works and what we look for in submissions.
How the process works
Develop an original article idea with a clear audience in mind.
Write and submit your completed draft with supporting information.
Our in-house editorial team reviews the submission.
If the article is selected, we may request revisions, clarification, fact-checking, or additional details before publication.
Our team confirms the final version and manages publication.
Submitting an article does not guarantee publication. We select stories based on quality, relevance, originality, and fit for our readership.
What we look for
We are especially interested in specific, experience-led stories that are genuinely useful to readers.
As we move into 2027, our editorial focus is on more personalized, niche content that helps the right audience find the right story. This approach has also significantly strengthened our search performance.
Instead of broad travel articles, look for a clear and distinctive angle.
Broad: “Spend a day with me in Barcelona, Spain”
More focused: “Spend the day with me as a Type 1 diabetic in Barcelona”
The second story speaks directly to a defined audience while still offering a compelling travel experience.
Before submitting, consider:
Who is this article for?
What makes this perspective different?
What practical value will readers take from it?
Originality and AI
All submissions must be original work created from your own ideas, reporting, expertise, and lived experience.
Do not use AI to write your article, generate the core idea, or create personal experiences. We publish individual voices and original perspectives.
AI may be used after you have completed your first draft as a brainstorming tool — for example, to explore whether your article could be more specific, relevant, or useful to a niche audience.
Travel articles and SEO
For travel-related articles, use relevant search terms naturally in your writing. Suitable keywords should include:
hotel
hotels
travel
accommodation
healthy travel
travel tips
destination guide
Do not force keywords into the article. Clear writing, credible information, and a valuable reader experience come first.
Images
Contributors may provide or suggest images. Any image you submit must be yours to use, with the necessary copyright permissions in place.
In most cases, our media team will select and place final imagery to ensure it meets our editorial and visual standards.
Accuracy and health content
Please check all factual details before submitting, including names, locations, prices, schedules, and opening times. Provide links to reliable sources when relevant.
For health and wellbeing content, personal stories and practical suggestions are encouraged. However, content must not present itself as medical advice or replace guidance from a qualified health professional.
What to include with your submission
Please provide:
Your completed article draft
A short author bio and professional photo (movement or lifestyle images are accepted)
Relevant source links, venue links, or research references
Image suggestions and image-rights information, if applicable
A brief note explaining the intended audience and why the story is useful or timely
We look forward to reviewing distinctive, thoughtful stories that help readers travel and live well.
Links and backlinks
All articles should include relevant links to reliable supporting information, sources, research, documents, venues, or services where appropriate.
Authors may link to their own website a maximum of two times in total. This includes one link in the author bio, which our team will create using the bio and image you provide.
Your article may include one additional link to your own website, provided it is directly relevant to the content and appears naturally within the text. Links must add genuine value for readers and must not be promotional, repetitive, or forced.
Authors can link their social media handles in their submitted Author Bio.
