I use a paid service that picks up your garbage from your doorstep every morning. It operates much like hotel room service for removing dining trays. However, since you're staying in homes, we must adhere to Italy's recycling protocols and the community's specific guidelines for trash disposal:
WHERE DO I PUT THE TRASH BAGS: To the right of the front door is a hook — hang trash there each evening for pickup. Don’t leave trash bags on the ground; cats will destroy it. (🥲)
MONDAY: ORGANIC WASTE
TUESDAY: PAPER
WEDNESDAY: PLASTICS
THURSDAY: ORGANIC WASTE
FRIDAY: NON-RECYCLABLE MATERIAL
SATURDAY: GLASS/METAL/ORGANIC
SUNDAY: NO GARBAGE PICKUP
MONDAY: ORGANIC WASTE
"Organic" = Only Food items
If you have a plastic container with strawberries that you want to dispose of, simply put the strawberries in your organic trash bag and the plastic in the designated plastics bin.
TUESDAY: PAPERPaper, or "carta" in Italian, is simple to recycle. Just place your paper trash out for removal.
NOTE: If you have a large box you need to dispose of, you'll have to break it down so that the pieces fit into a regular-sized trash bag.
WEDNESDAY: PLASTICS
Again, it's straightforward: this is just about removing plastic. If you have larger water bottles, they ask that you "smash" them down before placing them in the bag for removal.
THURSDAY: ORGANIC WASTE
Thursday is the second day of the week designated for removing food waste. Note that organic food doesn't have to be all in one bag; multiple tiny bags are okay too, as long as they contain only food. Friendly reminder from farmers: "If the chickens can't eat it, it doesn't belong in the organic trash!"
FRIDAY: NON-RECYCLABLE MATERIALNon-recyclable materials include items that cannot be processed or repurposed into new products through recycling methods. These may include:
Contaminated materials: Items soiled with food, grease, or other substances that cannot be effectively recycled.
Hazardous waste: Materials that pose a threat to human health or the environment, such as batteries, chemicals, or certain devices.
Composite materials: Products made from multiple materials that cannot be easily separated for recycling, like certain types of packaging or laminated papers.
Styrofoam: Expanded polystyrene foam, commonly known as Styrofoam, is often not recyclable due to its lightweight and composition.
SATURDAY: GLASS/METAL/ORGANIC On Saturday, you can dispose of all your leftover glass wine bottles, beer bottles, etc. Additionally, you can include metal cans like coke cans (they ask you smash them down same as the plastics).
It's also the third day of the week for organic food pickup, following the same rules as before.
SUNDAY: NO TRASH
HATE RECYCLING? YOU DO HAVE THE OPTION TO WALK ANY MIXED TRASH TO THE BINS LOCATED BY THE PINK CHURCH. -
The house has extra bedding stored in the second bedroom (Queen Room) inside the wardrobe. There is also extra bedding kept in a linen bag to the right of the couch in the library.
Note: the velvet sofa is also a single pull - out bed. -
Each Room on the lower level is equipped with blackout ‘shutters’, you can access these by opening the glass windows and pulling the outer shutters closed for sleep.
“FARM NOISES”: The cottage sits right on working farmland, so you may hear the occasional rooster crow or a farm dog barking in the distance. Multiple fans are left in the cottage year‑round and can be used as soothing white noise to help you sleep.

You’ll find extra coffee and tea options in the drawer under the coffee machine.

As stated in the Airbnb listing, this property has no washer/dryer hookup. We offer a €20 service to pick up one bag of laundry, have it cleaned offsite, and return it the same day or the next day. Availability is not guaranteed and requires 24–48 hours’ notice.
Bag size: comfortably holds roughly two full laundry loads.
“Don’t get locked out.”
One of the house quirks: the front door locks automatically whenever it closes.
Please note that a strong gust of wind can close the door and trigger the automatic lock, so be mindful when entering or leaving the doorway that you have your keys!
Example: When hanging the trash bag on the hook at the corner of the building, have your key in hand or leave an item in the doorway. It may seem unlikely, but a quick wind gust can happen in an instant (😭).
