75 Healthy Happy Hour Finds in NYC
Happy hour does not have to mean nachos, mozzarella sticks, and three cocktails you never particularly wanted.
For this guide, we went looking for the lighter side of New York happy hour: oysters, raw seafood, vegetables, Mediterranean plates, smaller snacks, thoughtful mocktails, zero-proof cocktails, and places where it is entirely possible to have a civilized 5 PM without accidentally turning it into dinner twice over.
Editor’s Note: Alcohol is still alcohol; we have not discovered a medicinal martini. “Healthy Happy Hour” simply means we prioritized lighter food, seafood, vegetables, smaller portions, and genuinely worthwhile non-alcoholic options. Happy-hour menus change frequently, so check current offerings before making a special trip.

Editor's Picks
Best Actual “Healthy Hour”: The Parliament
They quite literally created a wellness-minded happy-hour menu pairing zero-proof drinks with lighter snacks. The camu-camu, matcha, and blue-spirulina drinks make this feel intentional rather than like a bar grudgingly removed the vodka.
Best Value: Motek
Five-dollar salmon skewers, chopped salad, falafel, watermelon-feta salad, pickles, and cauliflower couscous are frankly ridiculous by current Manhattan standards.
Best Zero-Proof Happy Hour: Follia
Discounted mocktails alongside $2 oysters and $6 olives means the sober person at the table isn't being handed sparkling water and moral support.
Best Beautiful Setting: Bobo
Two-dollar oysters inside a West Village townhouse remain an extremely persuasive argument for leaving the office early.
Best Pre-Theater: The Mermaid Oyster Bar
Raw bar, tartare, shrimp and avocado, proper mocktails, and a long afternoon happy-hour window near Broadway.
And yes, there are a lot of oysters on this list. New York appears to have collectively decided that the oyster is the official vegetable of happy hour.
Happy hour does not have to mean nachos, mozzarella sticks, and three cocktails you never particularly wanted.
